Frequently asked questions
Does this run in my browser like the other tools here?
No — like AI Summarizer and AI Rewriter, this tool genuinely needs a real AI language model, so your pasted text or uploaded document is sent to our server, which relays it to an AI API to translate it, then sends the result back to you. It is not saved or logged anywhere afterward.
What does Auto-detect do?
Leave the From language on Auto-detect and the AI will identify the source language itself before translating — useful when you're not sure, or the text mixes languages.
How many languages are supported?
Over 30, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Arabic, Hindi, and more — see the From/To dropdowns for the full list.
What file types can I upload?
Plain text (.txt), Word documents (.docx), PDFs (.pdf), and PowerPoint decks (.pptx). Scanned/image-only PDFs with no real text layer aren't supported since there's no text to extract. You can also just paste text directly instead of uploading anything.
Is there a length limit?
Yes — about 5,000 characters per translation. Longer input is automatically truncated to that limit rather than rejected outright.
Can the text I'm translating contain instructions that change what the AI does?
No — your text is always treated strictly as content to translate, never as instructions for the AI to follow, even if it contains something that looks like a command.
Your files are never uploaded. Gotool.xyz runs entirely as JavaScript in your browser. Your files are processed in memory and never touch a server — nothing to breach, nothing to clean up. Close the tab and it's like it never happened. The only thing we count is which tool ran (just the name, e.g. "merge") so we know what people find useful — never your file, its name, its size, or anything in it.
