Does this send my sources or citations anywhere?
No — everything is built and formatted directly in your browser using standard style-guide formatting rules. Nothing is uploaded or logged.
Which citation styles are supported?
APA 7th edition, MLA 9th edition, and Chicago (author-date) — the three styles most commonly required in school and university writing.
Can I switch styles after I've already added sources?
Yes — your source details are saved, and every entry in your bibliography list reformats instantly when you switch styles, so you don't have to re-enter anything.
How does it split author names?
Type each author's full name (e.g. "Jane Marie Smith") and it treats the last word as the surname and everything before it as the given name(s) — the standard approach for the vast majority of Western names. Double-check unusual name formats before submitting your paper.
Does it handle italics for book and journal titles?
Yes in the on-screen preview. Since plain-text copying can't carry formatting, italics may need to be reapplied by hand after pasting into your word processor — most editors let you select the title and press Ctrl/Cmd+I.
